The Medieval Latin “granatus” meaning “seed like” is one of the etymological influences on the name of the stone garnet, due to its resemblance to pomegranate seeds. From this association came forth the inspiration for these Granatus Rings. Rose cut garnets sparkle atop pointed medieval-inspired bands, evoking the pomegranate seeds central to Persephone’s story. Each ring is uniquely distressed and textured to appear battle-worn and ancient, like a great relic that once belonged to an all-powerful queen. Perhaps Persephone, the Queen of the Underworld. These rings are intended to serve the wearer as heart-armor, to be a visible reminder of their challenges and triumphs, and to honor the seeds that set us on our unique path. My maker's mark and .925 for sterling adorn the inside of each one.
