Thistle Armor Pendant

Thistle is strength in difficult circumstances. This often misunderstood plant shows us that when we adequately protect ourselves with deep roots and strong boundaries, our most beautiful parts may float aloft and grow wherever they land, like silken thistledown. Thistle says we must sometimes be sharp in order to ultimately be soft, and that there is great purpose in this duality. Two entirely handmade thistles embody these principles in this sterling silver statement pendant. An angular slab of exceptional quality petrified palm root sits between them, with contrasting coloring like the harmonious merging of two different energies. I’ve never before featured thistle in my Persephone collections, but its associations and symbolic significance fit perfectly into the themes of this myth. This pendant hangs 18 inches long, and my maker's mark and .925 for sterling adorn the back.
