I crafted this piece to capture the enchanting duality of the goddess Persephone. As both the Queen of the Underworld and a harbinger of spring, Persephone simultaneously represents darkness and light, desolation and fertility, royalty and nature. She is at once a captive and a ruler, a child of Earth and a divine figure. For these reasons, I always pair roses with Persephone in my mind. They are both delicate and thorny, an everlasting symbol of opposites. A cast sterling rose flanked by handmade sterling leaves is suspended above a fiery piece of petrified palm root. This scene sits atop a wide sterling band, with my maker's mark and .925 for sterling on the inside. The entire ring has been blackened and polished to echo the mood of the myth.
-- Details -- Size 8. Please note that wide bands tend to feel more snug than standard bands of the same size, so some people prefer to size up by 1/4 to 1/2 a size. Sterling silver. Natural petrified palm root.
Ring face measures just under 2 inches tall. You will receive the pictured ring.
