This striking cabochon displays exactly the qualities I love about azurite malachite. The azurite is a richly saturated shade of navy, that complements the seafoam orbs of malachite perfectly. This specimen is from the closed Morenci mine, adding to its rarity and value. This stone is backed for stability. Please note that it is not perfectly flat, as the back bows slightly, and there is a slight chip on the girdle (the edge the bezel curves over), but it can still be set in a bezel. These imperfections are reflected in the price. This stone is also ideal for use in wire wrapping, crystal grids, and other crafts, or for display in collections and use on altars.
Metaphysically, azurite malachite is associated with deep insight. It is said to enhance intuition and expand the mind, while providing the motivation to act on one's desires.
Please note that I did not cut this, it is from my personal collection of stones that I've purchased throughout the years for use in my jewelry. I sort through my stash each fall and bittersweetly part ways with some stones, in hopes that someone else will love them and use them, and in order to make space in my collection for new acquisitions.
