Lilac & Lepidolite Witch's Cauldron Pendant - 18 Inches - The Cruellest Month Collection
The cauldron is a place of transformation and abundance. A symbol of the womb, it is intrinsically linked to the divine feminine, the cycle of death and rebirth, and the act of creation. Deep within a mountain in the oldest days before the ancient Celts, the first cauldron was forged from iron and magic for the old gods by a druid named Semias. This cauldron, known as The Coire Ansic (The Undry Cauldron), would never run out of food, would leave all who approached it satisfied, could heal any wound, and was intended to hold all secrets of all realms. Inspired by these traits, I constructed this hollow vessel entirely by hand from sterling sheet. On the front sits a faceted piece of natural and rare lepidolite, a stone known for its calming qualities due to its lithium content. It sits atop a handmade lilac flower, tying in the imagery of the poem which inspired this collection. Natural quartz crystals spring forth from the cauldron, radiating its energy to the wearer. A darkened finish echoes the mood of this most magical symbol, and my maker's mark and .925 for sterling adorn the back.
*I advise gentle care with all of my jewelry, but please note that lepidolite is a soft material that requires attentive wear. It is only slightly harder than amber on the Mohs hardness scale. If you tend to be rough on your jewels, this may not be the piece for you.
