April is not gentle. It forces the earth, and us, out of the sleepy hibernation allowed by winter. But in that aggressive push is the potential for beautiful things. These sceptre earrings are meant to serve as amulets through the discomfort of growth, and as reminders of the power and capabilities latent within us all. Sterling crescents nod to the beauty of waxing and waning, and remind us to appreciate ourselves in all phases, while handmade lilacs replace the full moon in the center and stand as a symbol of fulfillment and evolution. Soothing, comforting teardrops of lepidolite* flash from sparkling silver to mauve and back again depending on the light and angle. My maker's mark and .925 for sterling adorn the back of each earring, and they have been darkened and polished for a darker aesthetic.
*I advise gentle care with all of my jewelry, but please note that lepidolite is a soft material that requires attentive wear. It is only slightly harder than amber on the Mohs hardness scale. If you tend to be rough on your jewels, this may not be the piece for you.
-- Details -- Sterling silver. Natural lepidolite. Earrings measure 2 5/8 inches from top of hook to bottom of the stone setting. One earring weighs .47 oz, a hair over the weight of two quarters. You will receive the pictured pair of earrings.
