Cailleach's Sigil Cauldron ✦ 18 Inches ✦ The Age of the Cailleach Collection
The cauldron is a place of transformation and abundance. A symbol of the womb, it is intrinsically linked to the divine feminine, the cycle of death and rebirth, and the act of creation. Celtic mythology tells us that the first cauldron was created in the oldest days, in the era of The Cailleach - the ancient Celtic crone and winter goddess. With all of these connections, I knew I wanted to feature some of my signature cauldron necklaces in the Age of the Cailleach Collection. This sterling piece is an entirely handmade hollow vessel. On the front of the cauldron, a scythe and stalk of wheat lay crossed, with a crescent moon above and a circle of moonstone below. Five natural warm colored smoky quartz points radiate from within the cauldron. My maker's mark and .925 for sterling adorn the back. This piece has been darkened and selectively polished to highlight the details, and to create the air of an ancient jewel unearthed from the frozen land.
